Readability

The Readability Guidelines wiki, which I authored for Content Design London in 2019, is no longer live and will not be available again.

Collaboratively researched, this diversity award-winning project helped many people across the globe to create more readable, inclusive and accessible content. But, it was never fully completed, and the intention to regularly iterate it was not carried out. Funding issues were cited by the intellectual property rights holders.

You can currently access an Internet Archive copy of the Readability Guidelines wiki.

I will be developing something similar around readability in the near future. I’ve also authored self-paced, modular e-learning courses in:

• Content design
• Content accessibility
• Writing for web
• User-centred design

They’re all available from this website. I’m offering 10% off these upskilling courses with the discount code: Readability10.

The GOV UK style guide is also an excellent, user research evidence-based resource for clear, accessible and inclusive content.
